“Clive is such an inspiring person to work with. He has a team which is spread around the country and to manage it like he does is something which is unbelievable. His team has members who have a varied experience of 20 to 45 years’ experience and it can be challenging to manage such a team especially if they are not around in the same office. But he does it effortlessly whilst ensuring everyone is happy.
Clive carries himself well even in pressure situations and is always very appreciative of his team efforts. He always tries his level best to ensure that his team get the training and experience required to carry out their day to day activities. He is one of the most deserving candidates for this award with his contribution to the Rail Industry now crossing more than 40 years.
On a project level Clive is truly collaborative and has led or participated in a number of high profile rail projects particularly abroad. Two highlights have been: the Athens Metro Extension designs where he relocated to Athens as the JV Project Manager and successfully coordinated the whole project with partners, sub-consultants and the client; secondly a PPP transaction in Manila Philippines for the privatisation of the Manila Metro led by the International Finance Corporation with Clive leading the AECOM Technical Advisory team through the successful process culminating in the project receiving several international awards.
More recently Clive has focussed on managing and growing the team as well as collaborating extensively with clients and partners. This includes the acquisition of bespoke software tools that is enabling AECOM to lead and innovate in the fast evolving world of BIM and the Digital Railway. He has a very personal approach to everything he does including using the phone as much as possible.“
