Said the following about Christopher Blake:

“How do you measure a successful manager?

Is it by hitting targets and deadlines, thinking of the bigger picture and the future, Chris is exceptionally dedicated and hardworking, he always brings a positive high energy and a personable touch to all that he undertakes. Not only is Chris an inspiring leader, he is a team worker who supports not only his team but the wider business on a regular basis, he encourages people to find out answers for themselves while supporting their decisions with honesty and integrity. Chris works alongside to inspire change. Chris is extremely organized and focused on continuously learning and developing best practices to manage routine activities and ad-hoc events both efficiently and effectively, he strives to involve others in order to implement.

Chris came into the role as Station manager at Worcester 4 years ago without any hands-on experience of day-to-day activities and station workings, what he did bring was a wealth of eagerness to learn, adapt and bring together a team who felt valued and listened to.

Chris progressed from Worcester to a position as Senior Interface HS2 manager, forging many new relationships and successes. Chris then progressed onto the role of Regional Manager for Stations LNR where he is currently shaping and developing his new team structure

I have observed Chris resolve conflicts and handle other difficult situations with remarkable patience and admirable tact.

I believe these characteristics represent all that is good in our company and the rail industry, and I am pleased to nominate Chris for the honour of Rail Manager of the Year.“
