“I have nominated Carly and her team at Swanley Resources for their excellent commitment to ensuring not just mine but all Siemens projects throughout the country are fully resourced.
One of my demanding projects Victoria 3 which I was the Construction Manager, our commissioning a 9-day blockade we required over 150 additional staff nights and days which is a huge task to resource and especially over the Xmas period. Yet again the team did not let us down we filled all requirements.
Many of the team received the Siemens Star awards for their efforts over a very difficult period and we also have been nominated in two categories for this year's rail awards and the Resource team has been a major part of the success of Victoria 3.
I have worked closely with Carly and the team for many years now and have huge respect for what the team do and will continue to do so in the future.

They work so well together as a team, supporting each other and their projects but as individuals nothing is too much trouble for them to help with or go that extra mile for.
This team also look after PPE requirements too for their internal employees as well as many other activities behind the scenes that so many people take for granted and this is why I would like to highlight their efforts, help them to showcase what a superb resourcing team they are and get them the recognition they deserve.
I have had the pleasure of working with this resourcing team for quite a number of years now and it's a relationship I feel really grateful for because it provides insight, trust and respect but is also fun and makes work enjoyable too.“

The team always go above and beyond to ensure that every candidate hold the right level of certification to perform their role and are very supportive where training may be required to help upskill candidates to the required level and ensure compliance.
The team are very deserving of this award as they always ensure all commissionings are fully staffed and without the hard work that they put in behind the scenes the success of recent commissionings such as VIC3, W2H and many others would not have been what they are.
A number of the team regularly give up their weekends as well as working over Christmas and Easter on site to support critical works and are so dedicated to making every project a success.

“I started with VGC about a year ago and from the first day I introduced myself to the Swanley (Siemens) Team I have been in Rail for nearly 20 years and in all my time meeting new clients teams I can honestly say they are brilliant, from day one they helped me settle in, showed me the way I needed to do and submit requests that they had sent over by them selves. Not many clients that I have worked with bend over backwards to help their contractors in a way I have never seen before, it makes life so much easier when everybody works together and also when they make you feel like you are one of the team when actually I'm working for a completely different company.
We have regular meetings where we all get together and discuss up and coming work and also go through any issues that arise and every time I feel so welcome I can also say that this team is not just a team but a RAIL FAMILY.

Carly’s team is responsible for making sure that we have the right resources available from across the industry at every phase of the project delivery lifecycle. They work together with our supply chain and project teams to make sure that the necessary skills are in the right place at the right time for every project.
They manage all aspects of bringing third party workers (TPW) into Siemens Rail delivery business. Removing a huge workload of our hiring managers allowing them to focus on technical detail by providing a one stop shop for all TPW requirements.
Last year alone the CR Team staff recruited over 7500 resources into Siemens.
Undertook IR35 implementation and completion of all Qdos assessments prior to go live date.
Resourcing all commissioning and stage works throughout the country.
Successfully rolled out sustainable PPE across the business.
Introduced Ladies PPE into the business including maternity wear and modesty tunics
Provide Siemens with an end-to-end process – from hire to pay. for TPWs.“

“The Central Resourcing Team strives to enable a national bank of activities to take place everyday of the week. Within Siemens we require anyone hold COSS competence to not only hold that competence but also to undertake Human Factors tests and have a good level of knowledge in the OnTrac SWP system. The team have actively taken on board these requirements and work hard with agencies, individuals, the Siemens Infrastructure Access team and our Sentinel team to facilitate third party workers and ensuring the meet Siemens stringent requirements.
I credit the Central Resourcing team with ensuring we get the best people in roles and I am confident that the role they play within the company enables us to carry out work with the very best of workers in every part of the rail business“

In particular the addition of the SISS portfolio to the business which has been very challenging due to the variety of new skills that are required to deliver each project. These roles were new to the team but their attention to detail and professionalism has enabled us to fulfil each requirement and help us to grow and build our team together.
The SISS portfolio is now delivering projects across the whole of the UK helping to improve the travelling experience at more than 200 stations nationwide. It is the customer service and overall support from the Central Resourcing Team that has allowed this to happen and knowing that they are there to support us gives me the confidence for the next challenge.
