“Anita has worked on the railway for many years working as a dispatcher and various management roles.

She is an inspiration to women on the railway and is an exceptional manager. When I first started at Ely, the platform was very male dominated. It is now staffed equally between males and females, different ethnicities and the diversity of staff at our medium sized station is brilliant. This is down to Anita.

We can have whole days where the station is staffed solely by females and also managed by a female. This would never have been the case just a few years ago.

Anita has encouraged me to pursue additional qualifications and has also been instrumental in encouraging other staff members to progress into different areas of the business. She is always around for us, always cheering our corner and motivating us. It's time for her to realise how much we appreciate her and what she does for us all and I hope this nomination will go some way to letting her know this.“

Covering such a large area, Anita always manages to be visible to colleagues. Whether that is helping out during disruption, assisting through engineering works, or just visiting stations to find out if she can make their lives easier in any way, Anita is a presence in her colleagues work lives.“
