Said the following about Laura Dittrich:

“On Tuesday 21st April a man was hit by a train as it passed through Dewsbury Station. The incident was particularly distressing as unfortunately the body of the man re-bounded from the train onto the station. This undoubtedly caused distress for customers and staff as events unfolded as many witnessed the incident.

Station colleague Laura Dittrich together with colleague Salim Akbar acted instinctively and professionally immediately after the incident to ensure minimum distress for customers whilst assuring dignity for the individual involved. Despite the horrible circumstances Laura and Salim maintained their composure throughout as well as going above and beyond what is expected of their role.

Network Rail also expressed their thanks for the respectfulness shown for all concerned.“
