Simon Roberts

Said the following about Rebecca Collins:

“Rebecca joined the Welsh Capital Delivery team as her first fulltime placement. From the first online Team’s introductory meeting it was apparent that she possessed attributes that would allow her to easily integrate, add value & learn in the Project Management discipline by asking for any literature that could help her understand the portfolio before she landed.

From day one Rebecca demonstrated an infectious desire to learn and get on, she integrated excellently. Her quick-witted fantastic sense of humour endeared her to the team.

Rebecca is self-motivated & precise when completing tasks – not afraid to ask questions & give feedback.

Rebecca demonstrates a real want for learning, enjoys work & is keen to apply newly learnt techniques understand problems, address & complete tasks, regularly asking team members for additional tasks (& offering support) to better understand different disciplines. She’s always willing to help others. Rebecca has endeared herself further to the team by becoming the go to IT ‘person’ for PowerPoint & spreadsheet & general IT / iPhone support….’claiming it’s an age thing’.

Rebecca has been involved in several schemes in the portfolio & (under mentorship) has led & completed tasks, from project delivery plans – to on site meetings with stakeholder groups for Christmas (21) works at Wem Road in Shropshire.

All tasks allotted to Rebecca have been completed on time (& without exception) to a very high quality, not something we’d expect from a Graduate – it’s certainly kept a few in the team on their toes!

I personally witnessed her both on site and in the office environment her approach, behaviours (in relation to work), strong time keeping / punctuality, good organisational skills, and the way she conducts herself belie her age and experience.

Rebecca has a bright future in NR, I (& the team) would certainly welcome her back with open arms in a substantive once she’s graduated.

Said the following about Rebecca Collins:

“Rebecca has joined the buildings and enhancement team in Capital Delivery Wales. She has quickly become an integral part of the team who successfully delivered the new Network Rail Maintenance Delivery Unit in Newport called Ebbw Junction. She has been the key link to integrate the facilities team and contractor team delivering the new site. This has resulted in hitting the milestone to occupy the staff on the 30/09/2022.“

Emily Blackwell

Said the following about Rebecca Collins:

“I was one of the people that conducted one of Rebecca's Graduate interviews and from that first interview Rebecca has showed an amazing enthusiasm and a desire to get stuck in to any challenge.

Rebecca has grown from strength to strength since starting in Network Rail and shows real leadership behaviours, even attending the CECA Wales Leadership Challenge, a two day wilderness event run by the Royal Engineers where Rebecca showed real determination, resilience and leadership skills.“

Anne Field

Said the following about Rebecca Collins:

“Rebecca has been a blast of fresh air, with boundless enthusiasm and regular supplies of cake! What could be more welcoming, encouraging us back into the office after 2020/21, she became one of the team almost over-night.

Her energy and enthusiasm to get involved has certainly infected me, and others too, giving us the push to really get back to work and properly integrating with our teams again. We'll be truly sorry when the time comes for her to move to the next placement.“

“It has been a pleasure working with Rebecca, she is enthusiastic, diligent and is keen to learn. She is a good communicator and will seek help and advice when she needs too. She is well motivated and wants to succeed. Her contribution to the successful delivery of the new Ebbw MDU has been significant. She is always cheerful, and she makes very good cakes (particularly lemon drizzle). She will go far with Network Rail.“

Peter Caulfield

Said the following about Rebecca Collins:

“Rebecca worked with me for 6months in CDWales, working with the renewals teams. She was always full of enthusiasm, questioning why we do what we do and making suggestions for better ways of doing things.

Rebecca is probably on first name terms with most people on the second floor of St Patricks House because she wants to learn as much as she can and isn't shy about introducing herself to gain knowledge off others.

Rebecca bounces in every morning with a smile on her face. Her enthusiasm is infectious, and can't help but rub off on you.

Best of all Rebecca brings in cake every Tuesday and this weeks Rocky Road cakes were exceptional!“

Laura Townsend

Said the following about Rebecca Collins:

“Rebecca has demonstrated extreme capability and picked up everything she has been shown or taught very quickly with minimal assistance required. She is also very hard working and delivers and takes ownership of anything she is asked in minimal timescales.

Rebecca’s confident nature and proactive approach to asking question has been an excellent asset, in developing the relationships needed for the project management role and demonstrated her future capability for the role. When taking over projects she was able to solve problems by approaching different departments from working relationships she had already formed by proactively introducing herself to people throughout the office, like she confidently did to me on her very first day.“
