“Peter Gick is a Multi Skilled Operative working for McGinley Support Services.
In June 2022, Peter noticed a distressed female who had placed herself on an overbridge at Ellesmere Port Station with the railway situated below. The woman was obviously distressed and intended to end her life.
Peter acted quickly and without hesitation, making an emergency call to the ECO to turn the electricity supply off and used his knowledge of mental health training to communicate with the lady, taking lead responsibility ahead of the Police as the main communicator, successfully talking her off the overbridge and getting her safely into an ambulance.
As a business, we advocate mental health and have a number of Mental Health Ambassadors. It makes us extremely proud to know that, without hesitation, Peter entered a situation that resulted in a life being saved – we are grateful to have them as part of Team McGinley.“
