Said the following about James' Place Virtual Challenge Team:

“The James' Place Virtual Challenge Team was born during lockdown in 2020 to raise vital funds for Merseyrail's Charity of the Year. Like all charities, James' Place were unable to carry out the usual fundraising opportunities so the team undertook a Lands End to John O'Groats (LEJOG) virtual relay in 2020 and a virtual Transpennine Trail in 2021. The team was made up of 10 members from across various departments at Merseyrail and local Network Rail colleagues. Each team member undertook a 108.3 mile leg of the LEJOG, and in the end covered enough miles to virtually make their way back from John O'Groats to Merseyrail's head office in Liverpool. For the Transpennine Trail, each team member covered the full distance of 215 miles from Hull to Southport, and the challenge finished with a group walk of 10 miles to Southport finishing at the start totem pole of actual Transpennine Trail.

Overall the team covered 2973 miles and raised over £1600 to help support James' Place achieve their mission of supporting men in suicidal crisis.“
