From the minute Alan arrives to the minute he leaves, and even after that, he doesn't stop. He tackles all the public liaison issues, going in to areas under development, new project areas or simply places where he can make a difference. His work with the Community Rail Projects associated with Greater Anglia takes him all over the place that could be installing a Bee Sanctuary in Ipswich to some planters in Hertford East to brighten the station, its sleeves rolled up and he mucks in.
Alan’s career within the railway started many years ago in Peak District area before relocating to East Anglia. There isn't a job Alan hasn't done in the last 30+ years, working his way up and through many different locations.
Alan is a true gem, and this piece is only a snapshot, a small percentage of what he has achieved over the years, a highly knowledgeable colleague and one to be admired.“
