Said the following about Work at Height Collaboration NR W&W Taziker & PASMA:

“Whilst we talk about learning from accidents no collaboration has gone as far as this one between Network Rail Wales & Western, PASMA & Taziker to work to improve safety, not only within the companies but across the rail industry.

It all started back in 2019 with a fall from height off a mobile access tower. The investigation team looked through 8 hours of CCTV that clearly showed the incident. Lesley then put together a short video with a counter showing the number of unsafe acts and the number who walked by - this was put on Safety Central. Then in 2021 Taziker had an incident involving a tower in almost the exact same place!! Again captured on CCTV and this showed the behaviours were very similar !! Network Rail then joined forces with Taziker to come up with a modern way of changing behaviours. This then brought in PASMA as the industry body for access towers and has involved working to film a set of short videos covering towers on stations and testing the new APP TOWERSURE so it can be used on NR Infrastructure to improve safety and bring in modern technology across the industry :) These were premiered at the PASMA Conference in September.“
