“Shaun started on the IP Commercial Apprentice scheme in January where he was aligned to the IP Track LNE and EMD Plain Line Team.
Shaun quickly settled into the team where his work ethic and competency was quickly realised. One of Shaun's first tasks was to carry out full detailed analysis of internal billings to the plain line projects. Shaun undertook this exercise with real enthusiasm and professionalism working with his peers across different functions which eventually lead to a number of credits back into the projects which was worth circa £600k.
In addition and partly due to a shortage of staff Shaun was asked to assist with the Plain Line Commercial Management of the East Midland route. Supported by the Senior Commercial Manager it soon became apparent that Shaun was exceptionally suited to the demands of this role.
For the last few months Shaun has required minimal guidance or support from the team and has subsequently confirmed our initial impressions.
In addition to the support Shaun has given the team which exceeds his Banding he continues to be a high achiever on the Apprenticeship course where he is forecast for an outstanding result.“
