Said the following about Nikki Sohal:

“I would like to nominate Nikki Sohal (Heathrow Express control room instructor) for her untiring efforts and contribution to the growth and success of the Heathrow Express control room. For over a year, Nikki has taken complete ownership of HECR training days and has single handedly delivered bespoke training.

Nikki played a major role in training a colleague and I to the position of service controller. She modified the delivery of training in a way which suited our understanding. She made the training very interactive which involved a lot of practical scenarios, enabling us to accurately deal with any unforeseen situations. Nikki is very innovative and will always go the extra mile to help others. Nikki arranged our visit and accompanied us to the Network rail control in Swindon and the Thames valley signalling centre at Didcot, so that we had a better understanding of our new role. On successful completion of our training, when we started working individually, Nikki ensured that she was only a phone call away and remained available 24 / 7 in case we needed any help. Due to her training and ability to guide individuals, I am able to perform with ease and confidence in my new role.

Recently, Nikki organised a charity cake and bake sale to generate funds for one of our business partner colleague - Florinda. Florinda has been diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer and is currently undergoing treatment in Portugal. By coming into the workplace on her day off, Nikki coordinated the sale which generated a whopping £4217!!! Last but not the least I would like to congratulate Nikki on her recent promotion to the role of a Driver Manager on secondment and want to let her know that her void in the control room will definitely be felt.“
