“Lesley has been covering the area manager role in the Ramsgate/Dover stations and conductor/obm depot group for months whilst carrying her own duties as station manager. When the sea wall caved in between Dover & Folkestone in December 2015 Lesley spent huge amounts of her own time and effort creating posters and communications for our customers and staff alike. She helped hugely to organise replacement transport, support staff and make adjustments to crew diagrams (with some of my own assistance) to work around this major catastrophe for the company.
She spent hours outside of her normal duties going the extra mile making calls, briefing staff, visiting stations and assisting at meet the manager sessions at affected stations.
All this happened and Lesley was also having to deputise to cover the area manager role, continue with her normal duties and deal with her own issues at home.
I feel she has excelled herself and gone the extra mile for customers, staff and the railway during a really tough period.“
