She has created video content representing Network Rail helping the next generation of female engineers understand the graduate market and what are the opportunities after finishing University. Her passion for gender diversity truly made a difference on how University students see Network Rail as an employer. Very well deserved nomination.“

Said the following about Kary Ho:

“Kary has continuously delivered exceptional work over and above what one would expect of a Graduate.

I have worked with Kary on two projects within Network Rail's Research, Development and Innovation (R,D&I) portfolio over the last 18 months, HMT1 WorkfloPlus and OLE StAT.

Despite working in the R,D&I space and with agile ways of working for the first time, from day one, Kary has played an integral member of the team, displaying an appetite to learn and delivering high quality technical expertise and project management skills.

With HMT1 WorkfloPlus, Kary played a pivotal role coordinating activity between the supplier and the operational teams on the ground, translating the tactical operational rail requirements for the supplier and taking ownership of digitising existing manual processes into new software to ensure the end product delivered value. As a result of this work, Kary was part of Network Rail’s winning team in the 2020 DICE (Digital Innovation for Collaboration in Engineering) graduate competition. The project has since been voted winner of the 2021 RailTech Europe award for Digitisation.

This enthusiasm for new experiences and skills has since continued, with Kary proactively identifying a role on the OLE StAT (Statistical Analysis Toolkit) project with West Coast South route. Kary provided technical expertise that enabled development of a digital analyses and reporting tool, which began to realise benefits for the business in just 9 months.

Kary is an asset to Network Rail.“

Said the following about Kary Ho:

“Kary has been a shining example of how to utilise every opportunity available whilst on the graduate programme. Alongside her day to day commitments she has shown a real enthusiasm for learning by actively participating in various activities outside of the graduate scheme. She was an integral part of the DICE programme team which helped develop skills to aid in her development beyond the graduate scheme and also worked with some of her graduate colleagues to form a team to enter the Enginuity competition where they made the finals against other organisations competing from around the world.

Kary has also gone out of her way to support and mentor her peers through her role as lead rep for the Eastern region. Having only joined the business the year before, Kary was passionate about putting her experiences to great use by stepping into the role of Lead Rep. She worked tirelessly to facilitate Regional engineering meetings and supported the lead buddies with arranging a series of placements for her fellow graduates to ensure they had a great experience. She has always been on hand to offer her help and support to the graduate programme team and will go out of her way to help where she can.

It has been a pleasure having Kary on the Engineering graduate scheme and she has really left a lasting impact on all that have had the pleasure of working with her.“
