Said the following about Om Gurung:

“Om is a Mobile Security Operative in the Kent area on the South East Route. Whilst Om and his co-worker were carrying out a patrol at a Station they noticed a young male on his own pacing up and down the station platform. As Om and his co-worker got closer to the male they could hear him talking to himself stating the words ' you can do it, you can do it' and ' you don’t want this pain anymore', upon hearing these words Om and his co-worker acted quickly approaching the male using there Samaritans Training.

The male was uncooperative not wanting to engage in a conversation, the male then stated 'he wanted to die as he didn’t want the pain anymore and no one would care if he was gone', and moved quickly heading toward the footbridge to which Om and his co-worker followed him. The male started to climb the edge of the footbridge to jump over onto the tracks to end his life, as he was climbing the foot bridge wall Om and his co-worker managed to detain the male and take him to a place of safety outside the station where they were able to calm the male down, Om and his co-worker engaged in conversation with the male until Kent Police arrived to take the male to hospital to get the help he needs.

Om and his co-worker did a fantastic job in preventing a young male from taking his own life, they used there Samaritans and the company in house training provided to ensure the safety of the male.“
