Control Log - Requested BTP to meet the train in at Manchester due to a female on board the train who had been drinking and had had a row with her boyfriend. She was then threatening to "kill herself". BTP requested.

Letter from the girl’s mother

I am writing to thank Darren officially through yourselves, I have praised him verbally myself. I received a call from the Train Manager informing me that there had been an altercation between my 17yr old daughter and her older partner and that my daughter was distressed. He kept me informed of the situation and that my daughter was safe and being cared for. He gave me much assurance everything was being handled professionally and he would be liaising with the transport police. I drove to the station and collected my daughter safe in the knowledge that she was safe and secure. Police were also brilliant. My daughter also praises Darren remembering his name and saying how nice and reassuring he was. Darren also followed up this morning by calling me to see how my daughter was doing. Please ensure that as an organisation and management team that you praise him for his actions and his management / care / values and follow up of the situation.“
