“Yubaraj and Deep were carrying out patrols of the High Speed 1 infrastructure when they were called to attend to a report of a vulnerable female at an over line road bridge in the Ashford area, fortunately they were less than 5 minutes away and arrived first on site.
On their arrival they spotted the young female in her teens standing on the side of the bridge looking down at the tracks, she was very distressed so Yubaraj and Deep approached her using their Samaritans training and engaged in conversation with her giving her reassurance and calming her down. They had gained her trust and managed to talk her down from the bridge where they took her to a position of safety and continued to talk to her until BTP arrived on site.
Yubaraj and Deep's rapid response and the ability to think fast ensured the safety of the young female.“
