“I would like to nominate my Line Manager Perry Deboo for the Manager of the year award. During my 10 years as a Driver at Southern I have experienced a few Managers, who have all possessed a variety of strengths along with a different set of personal and management skill. Luckily my previous Managers have not had to deal with me very often, but due to this last year being difficult in terms of my personal life, having Perry as my Manager has made it a lot easier for myself to carry on, and continue to carry out my safety critical duties. Perry is more than approachable, he always has a positive outlook on difficult situations, along with always offering personal and professional support. Nothing is ever too much trouble for him in terms of his Driver’s needs. He is encouraging, dedicated and also possesses a personality that encourages smiles and laughter. Nothing is ever too much and his door is always open. He also encourages Driver feedback in terms of making the work place better along with Driver development and support. The way that he has managed myself and other Drivers I know have made a huge difference on us personally and our families.“
