Said the following about Muntazir Baig:

“Muntazir was notified of a trespasser who had crossed the tracks onto the mainline platform. Upon discovering this, Muntazir worked with his colleague to notify the signaller of the incident and to place a block on the line.

Muntazir approached the male and tried to get him away from the platform and tracks. The male refused to move and begun to cry uncontrollably into his hands. There was an oncoming train to which the male leaped towards. As the male attempted to run and jump, Muntazir grabbed the male from behind and pulled him away from the platform. The male did not resist the actions and continued to cry, telling Muntazir to let him end his life as everyone was ignoring him.

Through his patient and caring nature, Muntazir was able to take the male to a place of safety and calm him down whilst awaiting from BTP services to arrive. Land Sheriffs arrived shortly after to support with the situation.

The male was later taken away by police and assessed.“
