“Although this is Mike's first full year as a Network Rail PM, he has already embedded and delivered on the Putting the Passenger First (PPF) initiative. Mike has led and delivered on an accelerated piece of track works from his own project, the Norton Signalling works, aligning the intrusive delivery element (removal of a cross over and plain line) to that of another major piece of track works (Sutton Tunnel), ensuring that the project limited disruption to the travelling public, while also making significant cost savings. Mike demonstrated all of the right behaviours and ensured that the PPF strategy can pay dividends if the right attitude and application are adopted. Without doubt the travelling public in the North West have been protected from further disruption and as the PM for these works I believe Mike should rightly be recognised for this.“
