Nominations for Customer Service Award

Said the following about Lee Broadbent:

“Lee exemplifies the mantra of ‘great customer experience’ through his role as a Retail Service Manager at CrossCountry and because of this I would like to nominate him for an award at this year’s rail awards. Lee has fundamentally excellent people skills as well as being exceedingly hard working. These attributes have made me feel as though he is truly deserving of this award, however I have given some further detail for consideration below which I hope will be of support in this nomination.

With an unstoppable ‘can-do’ attitude and a naturally good-willed person, Lee’s positivity shines when he is on board our trains and have helped him to become the top seller at the depot. In addition to this, Lee receives positive customer comments on a weekly basis, with recent customers writing in to tell us how Lee had ‘made their day’, provided ‘exceptionally good service’, and thanked Lee for just ‘being the man he is’.

Recently, CrossCountry have been running a charity initiative whereby caterers request donations off those they are serving for a nominated charity. Lee has grasped this opportunity to ‘do the right thing’ with both hands. By reminding customers about the far reaching and devastating effects of cancer, which resonates with members of the public (most of whom know somebody who has been effected at some point), Lee has gone about collecting donations for this worthy cause in a compassionate yet professional manor.

Lee’s results from this charity initiative have been astounding, he has managed to raise more money than any other caterer in the company and has alone raised over £1200 in charitable donations. Like with other aspects of his job and indeed his life, Lee truly believes in the ethos that every little helps and has accepted donations of a few pennies with the same grace that he has received much larger donations.

When Lee is praised on his great work, great attitude and naturally excellent customer facing skills, he modestly resorts that he is only doing his job, and this includes his contributions towards the charity work. He often refers to teamwork, happy to share his successes with others which is another lovely trait for someone doing such a fantastic job.

Lee took a career change when he joined CrossCountry just over 12 months ago having worked in the health care industry for a number of years. He soon threw himself into his new role and within weeks proved himself as one of our top performing caterers. We are so glad he joined CrossCountry and would like to thank and recognise his contributions towards delivering our customer promise which he throws himself at with energy every single day.“

Said the following about Lee Broadbent:

“From the minute I met Lee in training I knew his communication skills were second to none.

He is a very humble man too, with the most naturally positive and cheerful disposition, I have ever encountered in any individual.

His gratitude for the opportunity Crosscountry gave him, is just as endearing as it is refreshing, I feel he is a huge credit to the uniform he wears and in turn the company it represents.

I personally have witnessed his very natural ability with people, his humour, his cheery chat, and a willingness to achieve a goal or target, that makes him just as invaluable a colleague, as he is a salesman.

Lee's efforts are not limited in any way by his surroundings, he is just as willing to help if asked in a station, or in a shop, if someone asks a question or needs some help, his personality compels him to do just that HELP.

He embraces a work ethic like nothing I have encountered before, if I were in business, I most definitely would employ Lee immediately, for not only his undoubted sales ability, but for his promotion of an enviable ethic amongst his fellow colleagues.

In conclusion, I in turn feel humbled to call Lee a friend, I wish him all the credit, success, recognition and good fortune any single individual can be afforded, he thoroughly deserves it.“

Said the following about Lee Broadbent:

“I have known Lee for some 15 years, as Lee's line Manager in the Care Profession I could recognise he had such a unique genuine, care for people. Lee had a genuine ability to support people, he was compassionate and infectious, raising many a smile on faces of the people he supported.

Lee went above and beyond for people he supported and they became part of his life, one example was of him inviting a person along with him to spend a weekend at his family’s holiday caravan -he went the extra mile with people.

Difficult situations Lee was able to think on his feet, he was innovative in his thought process that helped vulnerable people in times of need.

Operationally, if Lee was set a task he would endeavour to meet those tasks. Hard working in every sense of the word- One in a million who I feel fortunate to have had the experience of working with.“
