“Whilst conducting station patrols, Dave and Aaron heard a male threatening to jump onto the tracks as he attempted to enter trackside. Using the correct stoppage procedure, the team stopped an oncoming GA train. The male was then taken to a place of safety away from the platforms.
Whilst conversing with the male, the team learned that the male wished to end his life and was scared to return home. The male admitted that he entered the station earlier in the week to end his life but was stopped by a member of the public.
BTP arrived onsite and took the male to the hospital where he was sectioned.
Less than an hour later, Dave and Aaron attended to another incident following hearing screaming and shouting from a young female, dangling her legs from the platform edge.
The female was taken away from the platform into a place of safety where she was very emotional. The female explained she was struggling with her transitioning into a female, and had just learned of her aunt passing away a short while ago. BTP arrived on site and detained the female under the Mental Health act.“
