Nominations for Project Manager Of The Year

Samantha Lees

Said the following about Tara Walsh:

“Tara is a project manager extraordinaire! She heads up the Infrastructure Projects Transition team, who are responsible for finding new roles for 760 colleagues as their iconic programmes demobilise. This involves raising awareness throughout Network Rail, building relationships with stakeholders, sponsors and hiring managers and always looking for opportunities to secure transitionees a role.

Tara took over the project after it had been in progress for eight months, with not much success and a disengaged transitionee audience. Tara uses her project management skills to ensure targets are met, and often exceeded. The proof is in the numbers! With over 250 successful matches in 2018 alone, this can be put down to her project excellence and leadership.

Tara manages to keep the team motivated and enthused to come up with new ideas to reach out to the wider Network Rail audience. It’s a continual moving beast, with team members coming in on contract or secondments; Tara runs a tight ship making sure transitionees remain the focus of all initiatives. It isn’t just about the potential saving of £22m. It’s about protecting Network Rail’s reputation, doing the right thing and being a role model. Tara is an exceptional leader who never has a frown on her face.“
