Said the following about Richard Wright:

“I am nominating Ricky Wright who is a senior recruitment consultant within Ford & Stanley’s Talentwise division. Since I joined Ford & Stanley late in 2016 to head up the Talentwise Division, it has been a pleasure to work with Ricky. He has made me feel extremely welcome in my new role and has stood out as excellent recruiter within the rail industry.

Ricky has been present from the inception of Talentwise 18 months ago, the division was established to supply trade & technical workers to support our thriving white collar recruitment business.

In a challenging market, Ricky has developed the business from the ground up to a level where current sales are more than £1m and the client base has trebled during the last 12 months. This has had a very positive impact on our business. Ricky has developed loyal customers and we have not lost a client during his time with the business. To add to this we have been successful on three occasions to gain referrals from existing clients into new business or divisions, his networking skills come naturally. In a skills short market his delivery is consistent which has ensured continued success and whilst I’m sure he wouldn’t want it shared his nickname in the business is “the postman“ as he always delivers. Ricky has managed to have a fantastic impact within the rail market with the quality of candidates he has been able to put into new roles.

One client shared with me that he is often speaking to Ricky at the weekends, often not about work. It’s hardly surprising that this client has a respect for Ricky and a loyalty to Ford & Stanley. I guess it’s also no surprise that this client is also one of our loyalist and most profitable, a testament to developing strong relationships and going that extra mile.

The enthusiasm Ricky demonstrates for his job is contagious helping to create a real team camaraderie, he will often be the last out of the office and only when the last task has been completed.

Results are important and through his endeavours he has had a real impact within the rail industry and has placed in 46 people into the sector in 2017. This includes 2 women into engineering roles, 10 ex-military personnel and 7 from transferable industries

Not only does Ricky have outstanding commitment within his own work he is also committed to help the team around him, he has shown a considerable effort in mentoring more junior members within the team. This has resulted in one of the trainees being ahead of their objectives during their probation period and likely achieve a promotion to consultant ahead of schedule.

This makes him stand out from the traditional recruiter – having the genuine best interest not only in his candidates and team members but his clients and by extension the UK Rail industry.

Our nomination for Ricky is specifically based on:

• Helping 46 people find new careers into the UK Rail Industry in 2017 including 10 ex-military personnel, 7 from transferable industries and 2 female engineers.

• Developing a personal brand and division from being relatively unknown to a recognised recruitment division and personality within the rail market.

• Being promoted to a Senior Consultant in January 2017

• Mentoring and coaching colleagues to achieve their objectives

Ricky richly deserves to be nominated for this Railstaff award, he is not only an asset to Ford and Stanley but also the rail recruitment industry.“

“I am more than happy to nominate Richard Wright for the recruiter of the year award.

I have had placements and interviews through Ricky. Ricky is always available to contact no matter what time of the day or what day of the week is. Richard goes a long distance beyond just recruiting and regularly contacts just to make sure everything is ok.

I wish Ricky the best of luck with this nomination and hope he wins this award.

Ricky is easy to talk to and approachable whenever the need arises.

No other recruiter from any other agency puts in half the effort Ricky does.“

Said the following about Richard Wright:

“Richard first contacted me via my LinkedIn account. He had positions to fill which suited my experience. Luckily enough for me I was on the verge of redundancy with my previous job. I rang Richard for more details of this role.

I found him to be very knowledgeable on the subject and answered all of my initial questions, without hesitation. He went on to arrange an interview for me and gave me tips on things that I may be asked. An extra special touch was sending me a text message to wish me luck on the day.

I have dealt with many recruiters over the years and I can honestly say that Richard has gone the extra mile. Following a successful second interview I start my new job on 26th June.

I therefore wish to nominate Richard for Recruiter of the year.

I feel he is very deserving of this award.“

Mark Fowler

Said the following about Richard Wright:

“I nominate Richard for this award as he supports all individuals to the highest standard, ensuring all candidates are more than fully prepared for interview and beyond. This has been evident when I have interviewed candidates that Richard had put forward.

He always makes himself available even outside of "normal" working hours, giving good, sound advice to all candidates as well as giving advice to the personnel within companies that are recruiting.

Having worked with Ricky over a period of time I soon realised that he goes the extra mile when compared with other recruiters I have worked alongside in the past.“

Said the following about Richard Wright:

“What can I say about Ricky that has not already been said? Ricky is a key figure in the Talentwise team, a dedicated Senior who is on the right track to becoming a Team Leader.

He is a coach, a mentor, a real 'go to' person, taking new recruits under his wing and guiding them through the early stages of their recruitment career.

Extremely knowledgeable in his field, Ricky is considerate and respects his colleagues and will never turn anyone away, regardless of his workload; because of this, Ricky gains the respect he deserves in return.

Highly deserving of this award, I wish him luck in this category.“
