“I am nominating Katie as she is the unsung hero and backbone of the Operations team at GWR. PA to the Head of Operations, Katie quietly keeps the ship steady, not only managing the Head of Operations diary, but also ensures the rest of the Operations team are kept in the loop and managing some of their personal and professional needs including annual leave etc.
Katie is the example of a professional PA to a Head of Department and is the go to person if we are unsure of something within the business.
Katie also ensures the team a kept abreast of what is going on around the business and producing important KPI reports which are seen by the wider business ensuring our teams profile is raised.
Katie's greatest quality is her approachable nature. It is rare to get a PA who is concerned also about the wider team. Most PA's in my experience will just look after their boss, but Katie's nature is one that makes us feel we can ask her anything while she still fields off enquires ensuring the Head of Operations and the wider team can focus on their roles to the best of their ability.“
“Absolutely overjoyed to attend the Rail Media RailStaff awards last night. It was a wonderful event full of theatrics, great presentations and laughter. To top it off, of all the finalists, WR/RIA EDI Charter for Rail won Highly commended, alongside the fantastic Shane Andrews MBE in the HR, Diversity and Inclusion Person or team award! So so proud!! This working group truly is an inspirational space and being Vice-chair of such a dynamic group is an honour in itself.
