“In January Karen spotted a man who looked very upset, troubled with himself and quite down. She approached him just to see if he was OK. He told her that he was going to throw himself in front of a train. All she did was talk to him to try and calm him down whilst getting myself involved to get BTP. She spoke to his neighbour who was fanatically looking all over the city for him as he had phoned him to say he was going to kill himself.
His neighbour was then called to attend the train station. The gentlemen was taken to the crisis centre by his friend and BTP. His friend came in during that week to say that he had been sectioned and was getting the help he needed.“
“Karen talked someone down who wanted to commit suicide.I think she was very brave to do this and showed compassion.“
“Well done last Saturday, an excellent evening for which a great deal of planning and hard work had gone into the event and thoroughly enjoyable.”
