Nominations for Rail Team of the Year

Damon Colvin - **HAS LEFT**

Said the following about Damon Colvin - **HAS LEFT**:

“The GTR station team at London Bridge have faced a number of challenges this year, including the introduction of a new timetable, the opening of two brand new platforms and the on-going redevelopment of the station.

All of these have been very disruptive to the day to day lives of the staff, they have had to endure a move of all their station accommodation and the removal of one section of the Gateline and yet despite all this have remained fully focused on station performance and the needs of the customer.

The enthusiasm of the team has remained high and created a positive atmosphere which is commented on by new starters in the business and visitors to the station. They have been fully supportive of the Prince’s Trust programme that the station has engaged in and welcomed the candidates into the fold and treated them as one of the team from day one of their placements.

The management at London Bridge are grateful to the team for their supportive attitude during all the upheaval and believe they are fully deserving of the Rail Team of the Year nomination.“

Said the following about Damon Colvin - **HAS LEFT**:

“The London Bridge Station team deserve to be Rail Team of the Year, as during the past year they have faced multiple challenges and come through them as a stronger, more cohesive team. These include the station redevelopment, which involved continuous building works and upheaval of their staff accommodation. The implementation of the May 2018 Timetable caused many of their customers to be adversely affected; they worked together as a team throughout this to provide information and the best customer service possible. Additionally the introduction of two new DOO platforms has increased their workload and meant they have had to adapt to a new way of platform working.

Throughout this they have remained professional and continued to put the customers at the forefront of everything they do. They perform to a high standard every day, ensuring customers get where they need to go on time and this is demonstrated by the many customer compliments they receive. Of particular note is the fact they have gone over and above their day job by mentoring multiple young people through the Princes Trust programme. As a result of this successful mentoring many of these young people have been offered roles and become part of the station team. The London Bridge team have pioneered and become advocates for the programme within GTR and helped to change the lives of these young people through their support.“
