“I would like to nominate Alison & Natalie who dealt with a very difficult situation, but with their quick thinking & fast acting they were able to prevent a potential suicide by a young girl who had been acting suspiciously. Alison knew instinctively that something wasn't right & shouted up Natalie for assistance. Alison ran towards the end the train was approaching & alerted the driver to slow down while Natalie ran towards the girl shouting to get back from the edge of the platform and got to her in time. Alison then spent over an hour with the young girl who it turned out had some personal problems in her life. Alison is an amazing Team leader & I can't ever praise her or say how much the team love & respect her enough & Natalie showing that all the team are in it together & her bravery & quick thinking of both ladies. When I heard what the ladies had done it made me feel so proud. The whole team are so proud of your actions. You both deserve the Samaritans Lifesaver Award.“
“I felt extremely honoured when i received an invite for the Rail Staff awards 2014. I really did not expect it so it was a very pleasant surprise and had no hesitation in accepting the invite to this prestigious event. My experience of the evening was amazing. We choose to get into the spirit of the evening and arrive in fancy dress which thankfully so did a lot of other people. The food was of fantastic quality and the little deserts were the best. The entertainment provided was thoroughly entertaining. The evening was expertly planned from beginning to end. It was a very humbling experience to watch the nominees and winners and listen to the reasons why they were there. I felt extremely proud to be part of the railway family.”
