“TfW Resources are a small team based in Cardiff, Chester and Crewe who carry out the rostering and traincrew supervision for the entire TfW network. They are critical to covering the trainplan each day and ensuring our customers get the service they expect. Over the past three years they have had to deal with severe traincrew shortages as a result of COVID and then the subsequent knock on to traincrew training which has impacted availability of traincrew. On top of this they have also had to manage the release of several hundred traincrew to complete training on the new fleets that are being introduced into the business. This is highly time pressured as this training needs to be concluded by a specific date. All this was while delivering the BAU train service. They have dealt with all these challenges while also experiencing staff shortages themselves and having to deal with internal training that needed to be delivered. They are a team that can get taken for granted when things are going well and so deserve this award to show that their hard work is appreciated.“
