“The team at Preston have been through a tough few years. From the Covid pandemic were they were regularly short staffed, the return of our travelling customers to horrendous disruption and cancellations.
The team, due to unforeseen circumstances, have been working short staffed for quite some time now but always do this with a smile and some laughter. They have been put under immense pressure from cancellations and a huge sudden uplift in customer numbers leading to overcrowded services which they have managed professionally and always with care for our customers. When disruption hits, which it has regularly lately, they spring into action making sure our customers and each other are looked after. These numbers have hit their thousands during 1 day of disruption but the team still kept going to make sure everyone got home safe and sound. This might sound like something we have all experienced at some time on the railway, but this team have gone above and beyond at every turn to make sure our company and individual values are delivered and remembered by our customers. They are together as a team always whatever the circumstances, one big family.“
