Owen joined NW&C region as Principal Technical Engineer (Signalling) and has been instrumental in driving forward and managing engineering level 2 assurance for signalling within the region.
Owen is an excellent engineer; he is always aims to contribute to solving problems and has shown commitment to safety and assurance when required, including direct involvement in fault findings on sites to manage repeat failures for example.
This included working with the regional Signalling and Structures team, and forming a working group to look at risk controls for signals and writing a regional policy that defines examination frequency, timescales for findings/recommendation management and clear accountabilities and responsibilities in the process. This document was then sent out for stakeholder review and consideration for national adoption.
Owen has also been drawing up on his maintenance expertise by sharing and courteously mentoring members of the engineering teams within the region.“
