Said the following about Nick Rook:

“Nick is an established Principal Project Engineer at Alstom, currently working on Phase 4 and Phase 5 of the London Victoria Resignalling Schemes . Outside of the projects, Nick is supporting the UK introduction of Alstom’s flagship Signalling product by managing the integration and industrialisation of the wider engineering disciplines. Nick is tenacious and his drive and passion for excellence have seen him step into new positions of leadership and be recognised within the business and the industry for multiple awards.

Nick joined the rail industry through Network Rails Engineering Graduate scheme and later relocated to Australia to work as a signalling engineer in Melbourne. In these roles, Nick learned to work independently and autonomously, thinking outside of the box and being encouraged to push the envelope to pilot innovative solutions. This background has supported Nick in his role at Alstom. His ability to think ahead and foresee potential challenges has earned him the trust of his peers within the business and given him the platform to demonstrate his skillset. Since joining Alstom, Nick has grown from strength to strength, receiving multiple internal rewards ranging from health and safety to engineering excellence.

The clear career path and development plan set out in his position at Alstom has kept Nick pushing to achieve the next milestone in his development and there is no limit on what he can achieve. In an environment where people are trusted to deliver their roles with high expectations, Nick has flourished. Alongside his day-to-day role Nick has also; passed his Exams to become a member of the Institution of Railway Signalling Engineers (IRSE), achieved Engineering Chartership through the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE), obtained his IRSE Engineering Managers license and been signed off as competent to work as Contractors Engineering Manager (CEM) on Network Rail projects .

Nick is a meticulous and strategic organiser who always wants to be on top of the situation and do things correctly in his personal and professional life alike. His calm attitude as a manager ensures he is not easily phased and can focus on creating solutions. This has led him to be selected for the Alstom Engineering Excellence Programme - a development programme for emerging talent within the business.“
