The RailStaff Awards 2024

Nominations for Lifetime Achievement Award

Jonathan Glass

Said the following about Maureen Davidson:

“Maureen is a huge team player at ScotRail and has worked for the company for all of her adult life. Maureen is a Station Team Manager for ScotRail based at Paisley Gilmour Street, and she looks after all of the manned and unmanned stations between Cardonald and Gourock/Wemyss Bay.

Maureen started off in booking offices in the area, doing all of the accountancy and paperwork for stations before progressing to work in travel centres and now works in station management.

Maureen is the backbone of the Paisley area, she puts her teams and her colleagues at the heart of everything she does. Nothing is too much trouble for Maureen, and she is hugely respected by her team and by all of her colleagues in the wider company. Maureen deserves recognition for her lifetime commitment to the railway and for being a pioneer for female managers in the railway and for women in the railway in general, it would mean a lot to her, and the staff in her area to see her recognised.“

Susan Temple

Said the following about Maureen Davidson:

“Maureen left school on Friday and started work at Cartsdyke on Saturday,

I won't tell you how long ago that was? Maureen has spent most of her railway career in the Inverclyde Ayrshire area. For the last 20-years she has been an stm looking after the stations and the staff. Maureen is one of those managers you can ask anything, she might not have the answer, but she will do her best to find, as long as she writes it down in her wee book?

If Maureen has one flaw it is that she forgets time, which is why she is often found at work long after she should be at home.

I first met Maureen 18 years ago and I always found her to be fair. If she has to be tough she will be, but if you need support she is the first to give it“

Ryan Fergusson

Said the following about Maureen Davidson:

“Maureen is a fantastic manager and deserves this recognition. Maureen is passionate about the railway, good customer service and about looking after her team.

Maureen works incredibly hard and often works more than what is required in order to ensure her team are okay and that everything is in order. Station Team Manager is not an easy job and being able to do this role for so long and still be so widely respected whilst doing it really is a remarkable achievement.

Well done Maureen, go win it for team Paisley.“

Lesley Campbell
