Said the following about Lundy Projects TRU Delivery Team:

“Lundy Projects Transpenines Route Upgrade (TRU) Delivery Team led by Project Manager Paul Johnston supported by Senior Construction Manager Callum Flanagan Construction Manager Stuart Dunning, Senior Engineer Liam Hall, Assistant Construction Manager Peter Sutton plus a small support team and Site delivery team, with the essential support of the full Lundy back of house staff.

Program Scope

The line of route between Manchester Victoria and Copley Hill Junction (West of Leeds) has been identified for electrification as part of the Trans-Pennine Route Upgrade (W1A/W1B). Final outcomes are aimed at stimulating economic growth by increasing the number and frequency of train services and reducing journey times. An overview of the route split into sub-projects is shown below:

Lundy Projects have been appointed to undertake OLE Foundations on W1B of the route construction works. While the project has had various difficulties to overcome in a highly populated area the team manage to overachieve on most delivery shifts.

Delivery Scope

Our scope included CHS Piled 610mm Foundations, Augured Concrete Foundations, Wall Brackets, Gravity Pads both Pre-Cast and cast insitu Cast insitu, Concrete Foundations. We were also engaged to carry out the installation of transfer plates and to carryout brickwork repairs where necessary. With over 500 of the 648 Foundations completed to date we are well in line to complete the foundations over the next months.

Plant & machinery used where mostly supplied by Lundy in house plant department and proved to be extremely reliable. The successful delivery of the foundation program enabled the structure installation to also be a success and we look forward to seeing the finished Overhead line project.

The Fabrication of the Piles and structures was also supplied by our in-house fabrication department and of course none of this would be possible without the calibration with Lundy backroom team.

As part of the overall project, we have also worked with both Bam Nuttall’s and Amey to deliver bridge reconstructions and Erection of Signal Gantries again these structures where both fabricated and installed by the wider team.

This way of working proves that collaboration, can do attitude, positivity results in a safe accident-free delivery, on time to budget scheme which allows for valued engineering and innovation to be encouraged and developed.“
