Said the following about Lucy Cashin:

“Lucy is an amazing human being. I've never met anyone who cares so much about disability and the equality issues disabled people face. This year, she has increased the CanDo Disability Employee Network's membership base by 450+ through organising 20+ events for the members. These included events raising awareness of ADHD, PTSD, Fibromyalgia syndrome (which Lucy herself has), Hyperthyroidism, HIV, Multiple Sclerosis, Endometriosis, Arthritis (which Lucy also has), Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Long Covid, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, Cerebral palsy, Meningitis - the list goes on. The events she organised has brought the whole disabled community together - pre, during and post Covid, supporting many employees through very difficult times.

She is an advocate for reasonable adjustments in the workplace and has done so much work raising awareness of the needs of disabled people. She has just moved from her role as a fraud investigator which she's done for many years into the Diversity and Inclusion team to focus on improving reasonable adjustments across network rail. I can't think of anyone more worthy of an award for the work they've put in supporting others in the last year.“
