“Throughout the last few years the station team at Liverpool Lime Street have faced some huge challenges. When the Covid lockdown hit they quickly adopted measures that meant key workers could travel and use the station safely, whether this was from the masks, cleaning and sanitisation or simply the separation measures that were put in place. This was down on a number of occasions and at very short notice.
Through the pandemic the station team were a shining light for the North West route, their forward facing passenger roles were and are greatly appreciated.
During this time they have also supported many others less fortunate, collecting for charities and food banks. On a number of occasions team members have intervened to prevent individuals causing harm to themselves, they have cared for them and supported them with help through external partners.
All of this is as well as delivering exceptional customer services to the passengers that use the station each day. We have seen huge increases in leisure travel across the North West and the team continually impress me in the way they go around their roles.
The way each of them has gone around this is so inspirational and uplifting.“
