“Karen has always been first to hold up her hand to help with charity/community events that we get involved with at Stafford. Never afraid of getting dressed up or doing something daft to raise money. She has for several years spent hours of her spare time knitting poppies to sell and raise money on Remembrance Day, making broaches to sell at Christmas/Easter etc. raising funds for the company nominated charity.
This year in particular after growing her hair during the pandemic and then seeing friends, family and colleagues close to her affected by cancer she signed up to "Brave the Shave" and raise money for Macmillan. Not only did she raise over £2000 for Macmillan by having her head shaved in front of onlookers at the station but she also donated the beautiful hair that she had shaved off to Little Princess Trust who make wigs for children who have lost their hair through cancer treatment or other conditions.
I absolutely believe that Karen deserves to be recognized for her caring of others and the time and effort she has given to good causes!“
