“Jon is the definition of a rail person of the year. His enthusiasm, dedication, knowledge and persona set him above and beyond anyone I have met on the railway. His passion to ensure that we run the best service possible for the customer and his attention to detail and staying power to ensure that changes are made even when they are very challenging mean that he is instrumental in Anglia route having the best performance in the country at present. He is always looking to collaborate with Network Rail to achieve a goal and is constructive and always offers praise and feedback. He has enabled brilliant initiatives such as MOM response equipment on trains to happen, train running trials, timetable alterations amongst many others and his work on Crossrail must be mentioned. He has been a driving force in the Service Delivery Improvement Partnership meetings between Network Rail inner operations and the train and freight operating companies, and is always willing to help and offer a solution to potential service alterations or improvements, spending his own time monitoring how different services run and coming up with solutions. I could keep writing for a long time about Jon's achievements and I couldn't think of a better person to win this award.“
