The RailStaff Awards 2024

Nominations for Rail Person of the Year

Sasha Peters

Said the following about Jayne Rodger:

“Jayne is our Work Plan Co-ordinator, a role she started in 2017 however, Jayne has been working in the Railway for over 30 years and 21 of those with Network Rail! With that time has come a great deal of experience and knowledge in her field that is truly unparalleled.

The relationships she has built within Scotrail have been a huge asset in our understanding of how our planning of works can fit within their operating parameters ensuring the most efficient and effective planning.

Jayne’s work ethic and dedication to her role is absolutely inspirational. She will never stop trying, no matter how impossible or complex the task and will always go above and beyond to see it to completion, pushing and supporting the team all the way.

She is the Swiss-army knife of the team. Able to solve any problem, always available day or night, whether it’s professional or personal and will do anything within her power to help.

Our whole team would like to thank Jayne for her dedication and hard work. We don't know where we would be without her and in our opinion, no one deserves to win this award more.“

Robert McKean

Said the following about Jayne Rodger:

“Jayne is the most driven, organised individual I have worked with, a real example to all.

She goes over and above on most of our projects, often taking on tasks not in her remit to ensure smooth delivery!

Recently, on one of my projects, Jayne oversaw some Track Access and isolation issues, providing a massive amount of assistance to our planner. Without Jayne’s assistance it is very likely that the project would not have gone ahead, meaning both practical and financial implications for the company.
