“The information controllers @ LNER Edinburgh Waverley are a fairly new team they not only keep their dispatch competencies but as LNER has the contract to look after all of the assistance bookings at Edinburgh station, this can be up to 300 bookings per day with a team of 10 mobility assistants the information controllers are on site daily from 0520 to 2100 to coordinate the many bookings plus any additional on the day bookings - they have travelled around the route to ensure that they are offering the best service possible, using innovative ways of ensuring that customers are met and transported to where they need to be, when you can have up to 20 arriving on one train is not an easy task, but they manage this and do it for the most with a smile, they have shared best practice with the RDG and with other TOCs they use a teams based system for tracking customers and ensuring that details including seat numbers and requirements are passed to the next station - this can be particularly challenging when disruption hits, they call customers up to ensure they are aware of cancelled services and really pride themselves on their work - so this is for a shout out for the Information Controllers @ LNER Edinburgh Waverley“
