Said the following about Eleasha Kell:

“Eleasha Joined AECOM as a Year in Industry Student in 2018/2019 and she made a positive impact within the Swindon Civils and Structural Team. She was awarded AECOM sponsorship though here final years at university as a result of her performance.

In 2021, after completing her university degree, she joined AECOM as a Graduate, and has been a credit to the team ever since.

She has helped to deliver some high-profile large scale multi-disciplinary projects. One of which is the ongoing Old Oak Common station works, where she has worked on the critical interface between the existing Great Western Main Line and the new HS2 station development. On this scheme she has designed: a complicated contiguous bored pile retaining wall, piled and concrete foundations for OLE structures and assessment of existing retaining walls.

The contiguous bore pile retaining wall is a key piece of infrastructure that carefully required consideration of the adjacent intersection bridge and associated earthworks and existing retaining wall. It was a particularly challenging design that required a complex mix of design and construction considerations that would normally require a more experienced engineer. However, through dedication and communication with the wider design team she was able to make a great success of this design.

She is quick learner and uses her engineering judgement. Her drive and self-motivation help the entire team to challenge themselves and become better engineers.

Her work outside of the team in various roles helps the wider office and local communities is equally commendable and includes:

- Mental Health First Aider

- Army Reservist

- Part of the sports and Social Committee

- Working with senior members of the team to develop the rail design

procedure with a focus on environmental hazards

- Helping with Local Early Career Recruitment

Eleasha had a fantastic first year in the Rail Industry and has quickly become a key member of the Swindon Rail team. The entire Swindon Office and the wider AECOM community that has worked with Eleasha believe that she should be commended and recognised for her commitment and diligence to her job and the wider AECOM team.

A quote from Roger Squance (Old Oak Common CEM)
