Said the following about Alison Clark-Dick:

“Alison has made a huge impact in her first 12 months with Scotland’s Railway.

Since day one she has immersed herself in railway life, learning about and then enhancing the reputation and profile of what many consider “Cinderella assets”.

Using her skill and judgment as a communications professional, Alison has put trees, fences, drainage, geotechnical assets and ecology into the public eye with engaging and fun, yet clear and informative methods.

Her effect has reached across media of all types. Print newspapers, magazines, online news, chat rooms, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, even BBC TV news have all engaged with us, promoting the rail industry to thousands and thousands of people!

Each time her colleagues receive great exposure and congratulations. It would be lovely to give Alison recognition for this and a similar turn in the limelight!

It does not stop there. Key stakeholders, elected representatives and neighbours that interface with rail infrastructure across Scotland, thanks to Alison’s drive and strategic ideas, have been encouraged to engage and collaborate with us - benefiting future network resilience and enhancing our reputation.

Alison is a hugely popular figure. Professional and diligent, she is also great fun. She literally brims with enthusiasm and ideas!

What a first year! What an exceptional newcomer to the Rail Industry!!

I am certain Alison’s name will be repeated across multiple nominations.“

Said the following about Alison Clark-Dick:

“Alison's been a great addition to the company. She's helping our team express what we do and why we do it to the rest of the business and public. We can be so busy at times that we just move from task to task with little time for reflection. It's good to see things from a different perspective and the media messages help do that.“

Sean Gallacher

Said the following about Alison Clark-Dick:

“Alison has taken responsibility of driving our communications across many disciplines and platforms (LinkedIn, Twitter, and National Media). She not only drives this aspect but takes ownership and helps to fill out forms and gather data that often we simply have no time to do. Her enthusiasm rubs off on others. She has managed to help the geotechnical team work streams gain exposure from technical publications right through to major coups such as Scottish evening time national news (Reporting Scotland). We are very grateful for her efforts.“

Stephanie Mann

Said the following about Alison Clark-Dick:

“Alison has transformed the view of our geotechnical and drainage projects from something that was known within the industry to featuring in local media, online and on national TV. Alison works closely with our delivery team to understand the projects and the engineering details behind them and uses this to best communicate the message to a wide audience. This includes visiting our sites, meeting our delivery teams, and seeing first-hand the projects being implemented. Alison’s efforts within her first year make her thoroughly deserving of this award.“

Rachel Long

Said the following about Alison Clark-Dick:

“Alison has been a wonderful additional to our business. She has helped communicate the message that our lineside is an asset that should be enhanced for the benefit of all our stakeholders. The work she has done in engaging with our lineside neighbours big and small has been fundamental in the change of how the lineside is perceived. Her effective communication has transformed how we are engaging with external parties across all social media outlets.

In her first year in the Rail industry Alison has become a hugely popular figure whose enthusiasm is infectious. I and the whole team are grateful for all the time and effort she puts into everything she does.“

Stephen Sutherland

Said the following about Alison Clark-Dick:

“I've worked with Alison since she started in the Scotland comms team, and she's made an immediate and positive impact.

Alison hit the ground running with drive and a passion for excellence, looking for ways to help straight away. For many people starting a new role, there is a period of tentativeness, but Alison sought to make a difference straight away. Since joining the team she has secured membership for Scotland's Railway with Scottish Land and Estates, providing a vital communications channel with key stakeholders and important audiences. She also organised and hosted our presence at the Royal Highland Show in Edinburgh of this year, during a particularly sensitive time for the railway in the public eye.

There has been no task set by or for Alison that she has not been more than equal to, and I can personally say that the professionalism and talent she displays has spurred me on to reach that level myself.

Alison is an excellent comms professional, both talented and diligent in her work. We're lucky to have her in Scotland's Railway.“

She is full of enthusiasm, keeps us organised and always delivers. I can't think of a more deserving winner.“
