Said the following about Works Delivery Track Scotland:

“I would like to nominate the Works Delivery Track team within Scotland, following a successful year of safe delivery. The Track team comprises of 140 members of staff, based across six depot locations. Despite the geographical stretch, they are a close-knit team, sharing a consistent team ethos, with continuous improvement being driven to ensure everyone gets home safe every day.

Works Delivery Track introduced "EyesOnSafety" in 2018, and this has moved from an initial safety initiative to an embedded way of thinking across the full team. EyesOnSafety promotes the proactive identification and removal of worksite hazards. Initial desktop reviews are followed up with on site EyesOnSafety scoping visits, to enable site hazard maps to be produced - these interactive maps are used during pre-start briefings to make all staff aware of hazards and controls. The team have continued to improve on this, with site hazard maps now electronic documents, easily accessed from a dashboard, projected for all to see, and also kept live; easily updated if any new hazards are identified, with all on site empowered to do so. EyesOnSafety has seen a reduction in slips, trips & falls and accidents generally. Frontline leaders have improved their briefing communication skills, and all staff have benefited from more visual and engaging pre-start discussions.“
