Nominations for Apprentice of the Year

Dan Coulson

Said the following about William Horne:

“William joined us over a year ago directly from his apprentice assignment manager, having spent a number of weeks helping out on a project which required maximum effort, including unsociable hours and night shifts to get it over the line in time and on budget.

This initial contact showed me that Will was a prodigious talent and that we could push him far beyond the usual scope for even the brightest of our new intake.

Since then he has shown a fantastic ability as an apprentice Engineer with the capacity to take on difficult challenges and deliver designs, both digital and traditional to a very high standard.

We have introduced the very latest technology which Will has not only embraced but has become an expert in it use. This has led to the production of 3D design models for optical design including CCTV and DOO CCTV projects, receiving accolades from within the business and outside alike.

Will always goes above and beyond and often produces work of such high standard that it can be immediately introduced into the design packs and reviewed for delivery. Astonishing, considering his short time with the team.

He has become trusted member of the team and has committed to further development to enable his journey to a fully qualified Engineer.

Will's behavior is exemplary and he is firmly committed to Telent's wonderful new core values of Inclusiveness, Responsibility, Collaboration and Customer Focus.

He is a model to which all apprentices in Telent and the wider industry can look up to and copy.

Winning the award of apprentice of year will not only enhance this philosophy within our business but I believe will set a bench mark to which all apprentices in the industry can strive to attain.“
