Said the following about Sheree Whetren:

“Sheree has done an enormous amount for her local community including raising funds for a terminally ill young girl whose wish was to have an art shed in her garden.

She also goes and delivers talks about the railway to local schools amongst many other things.

If there is any occasion to celebrate her station is duly decorated in a tastefully yet flamboyant manner.

She takes great pride in her station also including bee hotels and a fantastic range of planters to brighten up people’s day.

She is a breath of very positive fresh air to everyone she encounters throughout the day.

A true star in the constellation of what we know is called the Railway

Thank you“

Said the following about Sheree Whetren:

“I am nominating Sheree (and I most probably speak for numerous individuals who live around the station , who commutes or passes through) because I have never known a little station and person to be more involved with their customers , then any other station that I have commuted in and around. The station is very welcoming, educational for children and a lovely place to commute and live around. Sheree has involved the local community since she has worked at the station. The station is adorned with beautiful art work created by the local school, flowers brighten up the dull days and the endless charity work Sheree is involved with in the community is totally flabbergasting. Sheree also held a Christmas event at the station to thank the commuters, children (for their artwork) and the community around the station for their support. The Christmas event was an amazing night filled with mulled wine, mince pies, school children singing carols and Christmas stalls. Sheree choreographed this event all by herself with no other person involvement.

Sheree also won a National award for her community spirit and involvement with the neighbourhood. She won Neighbourhood of the year 2021 (Hedge End) even though she doesn’t live in that neighbourhood.

How amazing is that!

This is what Sheree is all about. She manages to do all this in HER time and does not get paid a Penny for it. Her lovely smile and her huge heart will go a long way in this world.“

Said the following about Sheree Whetren:

“Sheree works at Hedge End Railway Station for the last couple of years.

Sheree has had a huge impact on the customers and the surrounding community by involving them in all aspects of the station. Sheree is a joy to see in the mornings which is down to her incredible huge heart.

She has raised thousands for local charities in the areas as well as national charities. She has presented the station to the highest standard that I have ever seen anywhere. She volunteers to provide her customers with decorated flowers boxes and bug houses for the children. The art work on the station from the school children are amazing. Sheree held competitions for the children of the school and the customer’s children to design a safety poster which adorns the station as well as monthly competitions all out of her own time and money. Sheree also won a National award for Neighbourhood of The Year from NextDoor for her work at the station.

Sheree is an outstanding individual that oozes all the attributes that her employers should be proud of. We are proud of her and what a magnificent change to the station. Thank you for putting a smile on our faces on our daily commute.

Well done Sheree.“
