““Last year whilst driving a train, Scott was stopped by the platform staff on the approach a station as a member of the public was attempting suicide. Once bringing the train to a stop Scott managed to exit the drivers cab and pull the passenger clear of the line. There, he subdued the individual and physically detained him until the British Transport Police arrived at the location to help with the individual. Rather than leaving the situation to the platform staff or just mitigating his own risks and those on his train, he assessed the situation and took positive actions to ensure the safety of everyone, including the troubled individual. Scott embodies the values of GWR and his actions are a testament to his selfless nature and his hunger to deliver a safer railway for all people who work and travel on it. ““
