Nominations for Rail Manager of the Year

Said the following about Rebecca Thorneycroft - **HAS LEFT**:

“Rebecca joined the Marylebone team in 2015 with no previous railway experience. As part of the station management team she has led the development of 20+ staff in a new multi-skilled workforce, acting as a coach and mentor for many of them despite her previous lack of experience in the industry.

Rebecca is one of the hardest working managers I have ever met, and goes above and beyond what is required every day. She regularly comes in early and stays late, sometimes working for 12 hours a day, to support the staff as well as completing her most important task - writing the weekly roster for all station staff.

Since the new multiskilled workforce were taken on, compiling the roster and organising leave has become a mammoth task, as different members of the team have completed their various different training at different rates. Without going into detail, this has proven to be hugely complex to roster!

Rebecca manages this on a weekly basis, together with providing a huge amount of care and support to the station staff, on top of her already demanding duties as a Station Manager. Nothing is ever too much trouble for her and she regularly goes out of her way to ensure the station runs smoothly. You may well have seen her out and about on the concourse at Marylebone getting hands on and helping out the staff.

She is very popular with colleagues and customers and for a newcomer to the industry has made a hugely impressive start to her railway career!“
