“Since moving to Yorkshire from Essex, Paul settled into the role of, initially, Driver Standards Manager, then of Train Crew Depot Manager, being a friendly and compassionate face for our team of 22 drivers at the Stourton depot. He has presided over the doubling of the compliment of drivers, which includes 10 trainee drivers through the graduate scheme from scratch, and generally making the team a happier and more content workforce. It's not a coincidence that improvements in employee relations have happened by being able to speak to someone face to face on a daily basis - which is a big deal when most of your existence as a freight driver is a solitary one. Paul has also improved some of the gripes we had before his arrival, which I'm sure, in turn, makes us a better and more flexible team. He's firm when needed, but always fair. His unique personality and Southern 'gift of the gab' add to the general good feeling around the place these days. Keep up the good work, Paul!“
