“Om Gurung had a great intervention at a station in Kent with his co-worker Gau Gurung.
After an attempted suicide at the station we had increased patrols, and whilst at the station they spotted a male pacing at the end of the platform and through our Samaritans training we identified him as potentially suicidal.
Approaching the male, we recognised him from a historical attempted suicide at the station. The male told them he was there to “commit suicideâ€, they immediately positioned themselves between the male and the tracks and led him to their truck. Emergency services and BTP were called. The male tried to return to the station but we were able to calm him and made him a drink whilst waiting for the BTP to arrive, once onsite they handed him over“
