“Jonathan has worked for Network Rail Scotland for over 20 years and has worked in 4 different roles during that time. Jonathan has therefore gained a wealth of knowledge and experience which is vital to the safe running of the railway in Scotland.

He is a superb team player and takes time, care and consideration in advising and educating his colleagues on various matters. Internally at Network Rail he is well-known and very much liked across the business (in Scotland and the UK) - it seems that everyone knows Jonathan, but for all the right reasons! He has gained the respect of a number of external stakeholders, including landowners, across Scotland.

Jonathan continuously undertakes CPD with the Institute of Chartered Foresters, and internal training with Network Rail, and always looks for ways to improve to be the best that he can be. Jonathan welcomes new experiences and opportunities to develop.

He is always eager and willing to try new things and get involved in new projects. Nothing is too much for Jonathan and he always approaches every task with energy and enthusiasm. He is a kind and caring colleague and is a pleasure to work with. Jonathan truly deserves this award, and I'm sure many others will agree, to acknowledge his outstanding service to the rail industry which is to the benefit of us all.“

Jonathon has always been there for advice and guidance throughout this time, and is a constant source of invaluable information if and when required. Said the following about Jonathan Callis:

“I only started at the beginning of March with absolutely no rail experience. Since then he has been the best boss, trainer, and someone I feel like I can talk to about anything, work related or personal. He has given me all of his time in training me up to where I am now. He is a hero because he has all of the knowledge, but he is humble. He is happy to share with others, but will always refer to you others, and will sing everyone else's praises. He is also really funny. Top man.“
